Sundays are a great day for drinking coffee, reading the papers and having brunch. It's waht we've been doing for the past `18 months in other cafes, so by very popular demand, we will be now opening on Sundays from May the 8th, 10 am to 5 pm.
Chef Jared and his team Khan, Missy and Sam have also been working on a few new dishes that will be weekend only, brunch style. We do not want to let the cat out of the bag just yet, as they are still in development, but so far we are very very happy with them indeed.
So, Sundays it is, I mean with only a 2 minute walk from the hectic Oxford street, what better than escaping to Kaffeine for a bit on a Sunday, or just spending quality time drinking coffee and relaxing?

Week beginning April 11th -- New neighbours
Welcome back to lovely lovely weather, what an amazing last few days it has been. But also, after 3 months building work and who knows how much planning, we are now able to welcome our new neighbours across the road, the Riding House Cafe.
This looks to be a most amazing venue, a real addition to the community that is Titchfield Village. The guys, Adam and Clive, are brilliant and they bring years of hospitality experience with them. Already they own a popular Bermondsey pub, the Garrison, as well as Village East fine dining restaurant and I would say that this will be their flagship site.
It is absolutly fantastic for me to see industry professionals who are passionate about food, service, wine, decor, design and yes even coffee moving into our neighbourhood. They have bought a la Marzocco FB 80 machine and will be doing cafetiere coffee in their fine dining area, with all beans and tech support will be supplied by Caravan Roastery.
I hope those of you in the area will support them to and help to really bring Titchfield Village into prominence in London and the UK.
Now of course we also have to improve our standards. I look forward to it.

Week beginning April 4th - Cafe Society Awards
Prior to opening, as a part of the business plan and goals, we set certain targets and ideals. Some of thse we have achieved, others not quite, but last week at an awards ceremony I was personally recognised by the industry through the Cafe Society with the Cafe Society Award, as recognition for contributiuon to the industry, as an inpiration to all others. We were also highly commended in the best Independent cafe awards as well. This is truly amazing. I do not profess to be incredible, or the best, I am just doing what I know and trying to do it the best I can. But I cannot do it all on my own.
In 18 months we have achieved a lot and I have a lot of people to thank for all their hard work and effort, from Tony our designer, Dominic the website, Kess the movie, all our wonderful suppliers and of course the backbone, the staff, especially Jared and Catherine who have been with us from the start. Some of you may not also know of the silent partner in the business, a very good friend who backed us at the beginning with financial support, Hayden, and also all the friends who have helped us along the way as well. Then of course, the people I am doing it all for, my wife and daughter. Respect to all and thank you.
Details on the award can be found here
http://www.cafesociety.org.uk/awards/index.shtml
There is a long way to go, not just for Kaffeine, but for the industry as a whole. Exciting times indeed. I hope we all can live up to and further exceed the expectations that thankfully are being put upon us.
